SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES AND REMARKABLE ACHIVEMENTS

PIM research development, socialization of irrigation management:

- Study and establish policy mechanism, irrigation transfer management.

- Build up organizational models for many areas in the region, the level-2-communal canal management pilot model, and management model with the participation of stakeholders to improve water management institutions.

- Build up models and solutions for promoting socialization in construction, managing a small electric pump station, and infield irrigation system.

- Build up the model of small dam community management to proactively prevent, reduce the negative impacts of natural disaster, adapt to the climate change.

Scientific-technological research to build infield irrigation system:

- Water saving technology for rice, water storage technology combined with synthetic cultivation on slopes provides high efficiency in the productivity of land, water and the ability to replicate, irrigation regime for upland crops such as grapefruit, orange, sugar cane, pineapple, peanut, watermelon, and vegetables.

- Building an application model of water saving irrigation technology for the conversion of inefficient paddy land into grass, corn for livestock development.

- Solutions to build infield irrigation system for the purpose of serving new rural construction for the North Central Region.

- Technology transfer consulting, human resource training for organizations, local and regional authorities.

DEVELOPMENT ORIENTATION

- Study on the PIM development policy mechanisms, the socialization of construction investment and small irrigation management

- Build up the organizational model of water using irrigation management, appropriate construction work of rural water supply for regions; model of management of irrigation system with participatory to improve water management mechanisms.

- Establishment of policy incentives and public-private partnership pilot in the construction, management and exploitation of irrigation systems.

- Build up a community development model, community -based disaster risk management

- Scientific-technological solutions to build up infield irrigation system, apply updated technology in operation, maintenance and management of infield irrigation system

- Technology transfer consulting, training, capacity building for local and regional irrigation construction organizations.
