SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES

– Provide training to improve the qualifications, knowledge, skills, expertise, specialized operations; scientific research and production, research on policies and mechanisms to serve the construction of new rural, services science and technology in the fields of irrigation, hydropower, fisheries, water resources, environment, and climate change.

- Cooperation on scientific research and technology transfer for VAWR’s fields.

- Provide training consultancy on social policies and sustainable development, project monitoring and evaluation, planning, baseline survey, workshop/conference organization, and information science and technology on training and international cooperation.

TRAINING

- Joint-Master training course: Cooperate with Cologne University of Applied Sciences, Germany to offer Master program on Integrated Water Resources Management and Natural Resources Management and Development;

- Short-course training: Formulating short courses on water resources management, disaster risk management & climate change, Irrigation modernization, participatory irrigation management and community development.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

- Establish and development cooperation in scientific research, training and technology transfer to the partner countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, such as the  USA, Chile, Mexico, Brazil, Germany; Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, Czech Republic, Japan, China, Korea, Jordan, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Mozambique and South Africa;

- Member of the international network of Water and Ecosystem (INWEPF) consists of 17 member countries of the world Center Network for  Resources Development area (CNRD) including 12 Universities and Research Institutes of (South and Southeast Asia; Middle East; North Africa; Latin America, the Caribbean and South Africa); International Committee on Irrigation and drainage (ICID);

- Focus on strategic development and implementation of comprehensive development and training, scientific research and technology transfer in the field of water resources with strategic partners such as Germany and Japan;

- Develop, coordinate and implement the project of international cooperation on capacity building, consultancy and irrigation technology transfer.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

Decision support system of water resources management, disaster risk management & climate change; research and technology transfer of decentralized waste water treatment system (DEWATS), irrigation modernization and integrated water management and sustainable community development with international organizations: the World Bank, ADB, JICA, UNDP, GFDRR, BORDA.

DEVELOPMENT ORIENTATION

- Expanding international cooperation in the field of training, scientific research, and technology transfer. Providing high quality human resources to meet the development requirement of the agricultural and rural development sector, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country and international integration.
