FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. According to Decision No. 1886/QD-BNNMT dated May 25, 2026, of the Minister of Agriculture and Environment stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Institute of Ecology and Works protection (WIP), the WIP is a public science and technology research institution under the Viet Nam Academy for Water Resources (VAWR), Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE) with the following functions:

- Scientific research;

- Development, application, and transfer of technology;

- Innovation and digital transformation;

- International integration and cooperation

in the areas of ecology and protection of hydraulic structures, dikes, disaster prevention and mitigation, and construction works; non-destructive solutions in the survey and inspection of hidden structural hazards, verification and evaluation of structural safety; prevention of termites and other pests, and manufacture of biological products for termite and pest control to support the state administration functions of the MAE.

- Providing public services, consulting services, science and technology services, and other services in specialized fields and areas within the scope of the Institute’s functions and tasks and in accordance with the law.

2. The WIP has legal personality, its own official seal, and is authorized to open accounts at the State Treasury and banks to operate in accordance with the law.
