Integrated Water Resources Management and Climate Change in Vietnam

Objectives
| To enable the participants to explain the need and motivation for cross-sectoral approaches to WRM and to formulate the principle steps of implementing IWRM; to offer them an insight in Climate Change scenarios and modeling, to make them familiar with WRM experience and issues on WRM for Vietnam and Germany and with tools supporting water resources monitoring, assessment, reporting and the decision making process. |
Content | Introduction to IWRM principles, water resources assessment, climate change induced risks, water uses and their related technologies, water legislation, river basin management and resource planning, transboundary watershed management, information management and tools for IWRM, river basin management institutions and companies in the region. |
Target Group | Professionals from different disciplines and sectors, middle management from ministries, NGOs and authorities, professionals from outside the water sector are also welcome to this course. |

Duration | 4 days training at CTIC including computer lab sessions 1 days technical field visits to Cau Watershed, Red River Sub-basin |
Test | After the course a short test will be offered, after successful participation a certificate will be provided |
Evaluation | Evaluation sheets for all participants which will be given to the training moderator and later to all trainers and the training unit |
